Key Account Manager, Boston

The role...

The Key Account Manager (KAM) will be responsible for the strategic and tactical management of existing Global and National Biopharma accounts in the Boston area. The KAM will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, initiating, and leading new commercial growth opportunities in support of the overall biopharma segment strategies. They will need to build relationships and enhance existing relationships with key researchers and Key Opinion Leader, and will be responsible for generating new business opportunities within key geographic areas in the territory. 

You'll have the opportunity to...

  • Drive the revenue growth of the business by promoting and negotiating on our full range of products and services.
  • Identify new opportunities to develop business relationships in named key accounts with a special focus on high potential accounts in the territory.
  • Develop a Key Account plan for each account in your territory that supports our specific business objectives and implement supporting activities, develop key contacts, and achieve the revenue goals for each organization.
  • Identify and maintain a trustworthy network of key individuals/opinion leaders within purchasing, R&D, legal, and finance departments at designated key accounts.
  • Analyze the assigned key accounts organizational structure to acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for scientific collaborations between key account scientific personnel and CST staff for potential new product developments.
  • Work with international counterparts in strategies and coordination for larger pharma accounts.
  • Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams (R&D, product management, finance, legal, etc.) continually provide market feedback to the organization around customer trends, market development, and competitive activities.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts to management regarding financial and activities conducted in the territory.

Who you are and what you bring to the team...

  • Bachelors degree
  • 3-5+ years of experience in solution science-based selling in the Life Science market in Pharma and Biotech, preferably with antibody solutions
  • A good understanding of drug discovery and/or diagnostic workflows and the technologies employed
  • Proficient in managing customer interface and relationship both at a scientific end-user level and decision making level
  • Experience in protein research, immunology and/or immunohistochemistry applications
  • Strongly skilled at problem prevention, detection and resolution
  • Computer proficiency with ability to use Microsoft Office products, Salesforce.com, or similar programs
  • Must have strong time management skills and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work cross functionally in a complex sales environment

Ideally, you have...

  • Masters or Doctorate degree, preferably in in Biology or related fields
  • Preference will be given to individuals having experience with and working knowledge of antibody applications
  • Experience in selling solutions and services
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with cross-functional partners and customers
  • Ability to manage high volume of communications (email, phone, and in person)

Physical Conditions/Physical Requirements...

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for client meetings and company trainings
  • Ability to perform office based work using a laptop computer for long periods of time
  • Able to handle materials that weigh between 30-50 pounds
