IT Program Manager, Lab Informatics

The role...

The IT Program Manager is responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams and projects to ensure multiple complex initiatives meet agreed timeline, scope, budget, and quality objectives. The IT Program Manager will manage a portfolio of technical Laboratory Informatics projects such as: workflow automation, scientific equipment integrations, SDMS, LIMS, ELN and other initiatives. The successful candidate must be a proactive problem solver with the ability to think both strategically and tactically. Strong communication skills, ability to shift on the fly, and work independently are critical. Experience working with 3rd party vendors within both an agile and waterfall environment is essential. 

You'll have the opportunity to...

  • Collaborates with executive business stakeholders and users worldwide to drive IT projects to successful completion.
  • Manages and/or collaborates with internal and external resources required to develop, deploy and support CSTs integrated global IT systems.
  • Ability to influence within and across organizations, functions and business areas.
  • Create project documentation (charters, schedules, budgets, risk plans, communication plans, status reports, etc.) in a timely fashion and in accordance with CST PMO standards.
  • Manages vendor evaluations and proposals for new solutions and migrations from existing disparate systems to a unified platform
  • Manages relationships with established global 3rd party vendors.
  • Contributes to the development and continuous evolution of CSTs global IT and scientific strategies.
  • Stays current on the latest IT trends and technologies with special emphasis on scientific advancement, master data management, cloud, and SaaS applications.

Who you are and what you bring to the team...

  • B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or similar engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years experience managing complex, cross-functional IT programs and projects in a scientific environment.
  • Excellent customer focus, attitude, as well as verbal and written communication skills.
  • A thorough understanding of DevOps, SDLC, and scaled agile framework management controls.
  • Ability to manage and delegate work as part of a team in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Strong presence and confidence with the ability to communicate well with scientists, technologists and executives in all areas of the business.
  • Passionate, high-energy leader with a forward thinking, strategic perspective.
  • Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills across all areas of the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a strong problem solver and decision maker with the courage and conviction to follow through on decisions and the presentation skills and credibility to win support and align the organization; possess a high level of intellectual curiosity and analytic skills.

Ideally, you have...

  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • 3+ years in global IT Program Management.
  • PMP certification.
  • Candidate should have experience with life sciences laboratory systems and be comfortable communicating with both scientific and technology resources.
  • Experience with GSuite, JIRA, Confluence, and Smartsheets.
