Social Media Manager

The role...

The Social Media Manager plays a key role in leading CSTs social strategy and managing its social media marketing program. This role reports directly to the Director, Corporate Branding and will drive our global social strategy and execution to build followership, engagement, and increased brand awareness across LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. The Social Media Manager is accountable for managing the companys entire social media marketing effort and ensuring its success. This includes managing the process of developing and implementing an effective social media marketing strategy, establishing goals and KPIs, creating high-quality campaigns and content, calendaring that content appropriately, coordinating internal resources, and managing related external resources, including the relationship with social media agencies. Quality content that engages the audience is the keystone of CSTs paid and organic social media strategy. Working with internal and external partners, the Social Media Manager will identify and prioritize campaigns/posts; guide designers, copywriters, and video editors to produce the most engaging content for each channel; and maintain established CST brand standards and voice at all times, and ensure that all goals are achieved on time and on budget.

You'll have the opportunity to...

  • Assist with strategy development and implementation of CST's social strategy
  • Communicate the strategy clearly to the agency and CST team
  • Be the guardian and champion of the strategy - Lead efforts to evolve the strategy as indicated
  • Lead and assist with content creation: ideation, copywriting, sourcing images and videos
  • Curate all post requests to ensure that they are on-strategy
  • Schedule and oversee the posting of content, with an eye toward creating synergy between product/campaign, brand, regional posts, and blog content; liaise with internal constituents, and writers/blog writers to drive maximum synergy
  • Identify the appropriate social media channels for each post
  • Integrate paid social media efforts where necessary
  • Generate business-building social media campaigns and programs
  • Create and maintain the social media calendar
  • Ensure paid and organic product/campaign, brand, and regional posts are included in the calendar
  • Organize internal content development resources, including the creation of project briefs for campaigns and individual posts
  • Understand CST marketing campaigns and identify paid and organic social media opportunities to help achieve campaign goals
  • Oversee the creation of content by any external resources
  • Assist with content messaging development
  • Oversee timely approvals on all social media creative via Workfront and chase approvers if needed
  • Be the social media best practices expert for CST
  • Live in the changing world of social media best practices, and share relevant information with the CST team and agency
  • Regularly share ideas and examples of strong social media content
  • Oversee social listening activities both for CST channels and competitors' channels
  • Monitor trends within social media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy and bring this knowledge into CST
  • Ensure CST marketing processes are followed, including use of Workfront, Hubspot, and others as needed
  • Create a list of KPIs to track and, if necessary, identify tools to assist with that tracking and subsequent analysis
  • Collect, analyze and translate data from social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram, on a monthly basis
  • Explore the possibility of a dashboard; identify metrics that will feed into a Brand dashboard
  • Manage all activities of the selected social media agency
  • Oversee the agency's analytical work and coalesce into report form for internal sharing
  • Schedule all meetings with the agency
  • Funnel all communications between the agency and stakeholders at CST

Who you are and what you bring to the team...

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or Marketing
  • 3-5 years of related Social Media marketing campaign development experience and demonstrated success creating compelling content and stories
  • 1-2 years leading an organization's social media marketing efforts
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with paid and organic social media channels; effective processes for quality content creation, B2B messaging best practices, social media analytics, and market trends
  • Experience using social media management platforms and tools
  • Firm understanding of CSTs audiences their needs, and their online social media behavior
  • Basic graphic design experience ideally with Adobe Design Suite programs
  • Strong marketing copywriting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively, take initiative, work collaboratively and independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Ideally, you have...

  • Marketing agency or corporate experience, > 3 years
  • Budget and expense management experience
  • Working knowledge of marketing channel/promotional mix to meet growth objectives
  • Knowledge of internet technologies, including content management, web analytics, search engine marketing, email marketing, website usability, etc.
