Associate - Financial Analyst

Industrial Economics, Incorporated (IEc) provides consulting services for natural resource managers, regulators, attorneys, and other clients involved in public policy development and implementation and enforcement of environmental and other regulations. Our staff applies expertise in economics, finance, science, engineering, business, computer modeling, and data management to cutting-edge environmental and natural resource policy and management issues. We are known for developing smart, objective analyses to address high-profile environmental and public policy problems, leveraging a unique combination of analytic rigor and creativity.


Position: Quantitative analyst to design and implement financial analyses to support clients in enforcement actions for environmental laws and regulations by assessing violators’ financial condition, benefit gained from noncompliance, and other issues. The candidate may also design and implement statistical and other methods and tools to inform public policy, natural resource management, and other economic and environmental analyses. 


Responsibilities: IEc Associates gather and evaluate data; design and implement quantitative analyses using a variety of financial, statistical, and other methods; interpret and communicate results; and recommend modifications to achieve project objectives. Consulting work at IEc requires attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently, plan project schedules, and meet deadlines. Associates typically work in project teams, managing the efforts of Research Analysts and other staff while coordinating with experts in other disciplines.

 
Required Qualifications:
• A Master’s degree or PhD (or international equivalent) in business administration, economics, public policy, or a related field. 
• Experience analyzing financial statements; familiarity with basic accounting principles. Experience developing discounted cash flow (DCF) models is a plus. 
• Familiarity with Excel.  
• Strong analytic, problem solving, and communications skills.
Compensation and Advancement
• IEc offers competitive salaries ranging from $70,000 to $93,000 commensurate with experience, as well as an annual performance bonus averaging 13% of annual salary.
