Marketing Intern- General Marketing (Summer 2024)

Job Summary

The Summer Intern program at CooperSurgical provides college students with the opportunity to participate in meaningful projects that contribute to the overall business unit objectives. In addition to the assigned projects, Interns are given the opportunity to participate in activities that encourage networking with peers, managers, and employees.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $18.00 and $24.00 per hour. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future.

Essential Functions

  • Provides a wide range of support to the marketing team, inclusive of product marketing and marketing communications.
  • Support new project launch and SKU optimization project
  • Collect and organize data/metrics on marketing programs from the numerous data sources we employ.
  • Develop an understanding of basic product and market knowledge to support brand management team.
  • Actively participates in building customer/prospect database through collaboration with Sr. Manager, Digital Marketing and Product Management
  • Participates in the development of creative briefs and project outlines and then interacts with creative services agencies through the creative development process
  • Works closely with brand team to correlate media data to sales achievement
  • Be prepared to perform project-based work as assigned

Scope

  • Marketing interns are expected to apply their academic knowledge to real-world marketing situations.  Interns will be treated as teammates within the marketing organization and their contributions will be integrated into product and communication plans.  Interns can expect to be included in departmental, corporate, and vendor meetings, with their participation will be welcome. Interns will also be expected to participate in corporate-wide intern events and activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate skill in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Advanced preferred.
  • Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently.
  • Excellent project management, organizational and follow-through skill set
  • Career aspirations in brand management and/or marketing communications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor

Experience         

  • Not required, but prior Internship experience is a plus.

Education

  • Current college student, majoring in Marketing or related specialty, entering their Junior or Senior year.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
