Our office in Lincoln, RI is looking for a Technical Assistant who will provide exceptional customer service, based on departmental procedures. The individual selected will meet and strive to exceed service goals and foster a team approach for support of the internal and external customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle questions and policy inquiries from internal customers.
  • Handle all incoming correspondence including traditional mail, interoffice mail, fax, email, and voice mail
  • Handle reports, bills, and associated correspondence in accordance with level of knowledge
  • Become proficient with routine on or off-phone policyholder service requests in accordance with level of knowledge for routine coverage, financial, and policy maintenance changes based on departmental procedures
  • Recommend appropriate solutions, procedures, and actions for customers, in accordance with level of knowledge
  • Review/sort and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • May be called upon to handle other duties and work overtime as required

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • Able to use a personal computer mouse and keyboard with proficiency
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Work, Outlook, and Excel
  • Able to stoop, bend, reach, and lift 10 pounds or less
  • Able to sift and sort up to 6,000 pieces of paper per day
  • Effective active listening skills
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and the ability to learn on the fly
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong organization and time management skills
