Job Description:
 

Description of Duties: 

The Academic Immersion Coordinator will be responsible for developing and delivering a program that will prepare students and their families for academic success, social/emotional learning, and high school graduation and college/career entry. The Academic Immersion Coordinator will work in collaboration with the PI, Director, and other staff to coordinate the delivery of services with tutors/mentors for those assigned at designated schools and to assist in student outreach and recruitment. The Academic Immersion Coordinator will maintain detailed records of services provided and partnerships/collaboration with community organizations. The Academic Immersion Coordinator will be responsible for seminars in effective strategies for various learning/ teaching styles to our tutors, supervision of our tutors at designated schools. They will be responsible for providing academic assistance to students, assessments, educational and cultural workshops, learning opportunities, and coordinating referrals for homework assistance. They will also provide advanced/ developmental support across the disciplines through research, exam reviews, and tutoring. Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:
 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in a related field such as education, social welfare, human services, psychology, etc.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience providing academic programming for youth or community support programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong group facilitation skills/experience
  • Access to reliable transportation to travel regularly and transport educational materials to collaborating schools, including travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in a relevant field preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with community partners.

Additional Information:
 

Salary Range:  $42,000 - $46,000 Depending on experience
