Social Media Intern
Job Description:
The Global Warming Mitigation Project, a global climate action nonprofit, is seeking an entry-level Social Media Coordinator to support the Marketing & Communications Manager across multiple social channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn) during the 2024 Keeling Curve Prize application cycle. This person is responsible for publishing daily content, responding to our audiences in real-time, and assisting in the copywriting of social content and blogs.
The Day to Day:
- Manage day-to-day publishing across social media channels
- Take ownership of daily community management and engagement across platforms
- Monitor inbox of social channels
- Engage with other climate organizations' channels through likes and, comments
- Outreach to climate organizations on social media encouraging them to apply for the Keeling Curve Prize
- Assist in writing and editing copy for monthly social content and blogs
- Brainstorm monthly content ideas to promote the Keeling Curve Prize and GWMP
- Work with Manager to develop social media reports and measure activation results
- Research industry trends and best practices
Qualifications:
- Love all things social media and is a passionate user of digital technologies
- Possess strong writing skills and is proficient in editing, with top-notch grammar skills
- Smart, driven, self-motivated and seek out new learning opportunities vs. waiting for them to come
- Have a general understanding of social media metrics and how to report back on them in a meaningful and insightful way
- Have an eye for creative - whether in word or visually
- Have high attention to detail & quality
- Have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Have experience in using social media management tools or scheduling social media content
