Staff Accountant
Description
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the operational aspects of the accounting/finance department, with some strategic focus elements as well. This includes solving high-level issues, invoicing clients, managing revenue and recognition, acting as a liaison across departments, supervising and more.
Expectations
- Administrator of accounting software – Intacct (act as link between Salesforce and Intacct)
- Invoicing customers (includes standard Salesforce invoices + custom invoices for various scenarios)
- Manage the yearly October invoicing batch (SWM, HWM, and Hosting)
- Act as an expert on products we offer, how they integrate with systems, and how that relates to billing
- Track active projects and work with implementation team to determine billing and revenue recognition
- Supervising Staff Accountants
- Building reports and analyzing data
- Managing payables and bills
- Supervise the mail process and direct incoming mail to the correct departments
- Assisting with accruals/fixed assets/prepaids
- Managing customer contracts and billing schedules
- Resolve high-level customer issues
- Assist sales team with questions related to customer accounts
- Assist with cash management and bank reconciliations
- Manage converted data across 3 systems (QuickBooks, MCSJ, Intacct)
- Supervise cash deposits (both standard AR deposits, and unusual deposit activity)
- Decide and execute optimal way to fix issues as they arise (often involves fixing AR and Revenue entries)
- Assist with various month end close procedures

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Advanced knowledge of Office 365 applications (Excel, Word, Etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles (Debits, Credits, other terminology)
- Intermediate revenue recognition and GAAP/ASC 606 understanding
- Advanced experience with Intacct preferred
- Advanced customer service and communication skills
- Advanced technical computer competency
Physical Demands and Additional Notes
- Stationary position 50% of the time.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access files, copy machine.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
