Technical Support Scientist - RNA Technologies (1631)

To support our growing business NEB is seeking a Technical Support Scientist who will primarily be responsible for providing technical support to customers for the RNA Technologies product line. The ideal candidate enjoys solving scientific puzzles, possesses exceptional communication skills and holds a genuine desire to help others through providing the high level of technical and customer service NEB is known for. This is primarily an onsite position based at our Ipswich, MA headquarters.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Deliver best-in-class technical support by responding to technical inquiries from customers, NEB Field Staff, International Subsidiaries and Distribution partners via phone and email. 

Professionally triage customer issues and resolve technical questions for our RNA product portfolio, collaborating with Development and Production teams when necessary. 

Collaborate with Research, Marketing, Development and Production teams regarding the delivery of technical information in the form of manuals, marketing materials and product information on the NEB.com website.

Develop and deliver technical product training for internal and external audiences.

Opportunities for professional development, such as attending conferences and collaboration with other departments and our international subsidiaries. 

Perform other duties as needed including input and maintenance of technical support systems.

 

 Required Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.    

Hands on experience with basic molecular biology laboratory techniques. 

This role connects to most departments at NEB and requires excellent teamwork and communication skills at all levels.

Excellent organizational skills and a high level of self-motivation are highly desired as there is ample opportunity to pursue areas of interest within the role.

Experience in service-related role desired; technical support experience preferred.

 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

2 years relevant experience.

Experience in RNA technologies such as genome editing and in-vitro transcription or related disciplines.  

Love of science, innate curiosity, a desire to learn and grow.
