Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the teacher, the successful candidate will assist in the academic program in grades 6-12, and support operations of a community-based resource center. Resource Center Associates (RCAs) are a key part of each resource center’s instructional staff. The RCA position is hourly and part-time, 25 hours per week. RCAs are role models for students and expected to look, act, and speak as representatives of the school at all times.

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent 

• Completion of two years college coursework from an accredited college or university (Minimum of 48 semester units)- must attach unofficial college transcripts 

• Reliable transportation 

• Pass a work styles/behavior survey and math assessment 

• Clear background check by the Department of Justice and FBI 

• Resume

 • Two letters of recommendation within the last two years on letterhead 

• Excellent organization, time management, and record keeping skills 

• Experience working with youth and specialized student populations preferred

CSSD is an educational option for grades 6-12 students. Its instructional design is based on a “University Model.” Students work independently and attend classes, labs, or tutorials 1-2 times/wk. Students come at scheduled times; no more than 20 students on site at a time. The learning environment, located in resource centers throughout the city, is professional, clean, safe and well-equipped with curriculum resources, teacher & student laptops, desktop computers, wireless networks, and high-speed T-1 Internet access in each resource center. 

SELECTION PROCEDURE: Selected applicants will be interviewed by a panel of School Administrators and will complete work-styles/behavior survey and math quiz. Candidates who successfully complete this phase of process will be interviewed by the Deputy Superintendent School Services and Superintendent School Services and Founder.
