IT/AV Coordinator

Our IT/AV Coordinators are essential for making the magic happen at our events, activities, and academics by setting up and supporting the equipment we need to deliver unique experiences to our students. AV Coordinators manage an inventory of video and audio equipment and work with campus AV representatives to provide needed resources to our instructors and set up incredible events and performances. IT Coordinators are the primary "tech support" role on campus, leveraging strong customer service, prioritization, and communication skills to regularly and effectively translate technology-related problems into solutions. IT and AV Coordinators both play a big role in other aspects of campus as well: they frequently spend time with students as advisors, instructors, or by leading activities or supervising students on campus.

AV Responsibilities

  • Organize, distribute, and maintain the inventory of audiovisual equipment
  • Set up for and provide technical support for the Program's assemblies, campus events, and other activities
  • Serve as the Program’s liaison to the host institution’s AV Department: learn about and use materials the host institution makes available for the Program
  • Work closely with the managers and instructors to identify and troubleshoot any audiovisual needs and issues
  • Maintain a system of material and technical support requests

IT Responsibilities

  • General setup and maintenance of Program computer software and hardware, including creating and enforcing guidelines for use for students and faculty, keeping computer lab space organized and clean, and supporting in device rental delivery and return
  • Setup and maintenance of all EXPLO printers, supporting with connection, hardware and software issues
  • Managing the use, distribution and maintenance of any other technology used at the Program, including but not limited to tablets, phones, and mobile devices
  • Providing faculty with IT support and ideas/troubleshooting related to use of technology throughout the summer
  • Diagnose, research, and solve novel computer problems around campus
  • Communicating with the computer rental company, the IT Department at our host institutions  College, and EXPLO’s full-time IT personnel

Campus Operations + Student Life

  • Establish systems of communication with the various offices at the program (e.g. Office of Student Life, Office of Teaching + Learning) about AV needs
  • Provide a safe and fun recreational activity environment for Summer Program students by maintaining activity and office spaces and materials to appropriate standards
  • Receive and implement feedback from your supervisor and other managers on campus to improve systems and processes
  • Assist with workshops, electives, activities, trips, and other programmatic tasks
  • Chaperone resident Summer Program students on evening and weekend trips
  • Perform additional Summer Program duties as may be assigned to you

 

About You

You’ve got:

  • An understanding, interest, or experience working in the field of Information Technology and Audio Visual Technology
  • Availability to live and work on campus for the duration of the summer program

Ideally, you’ve also got:

  • 2+ years of post-high school experience by the summer
  • Some experience with kids and/or adolescents
  • Experience in customer service and/or IT support


Compensation + Benefits

This is a seven week, seasonal position. Remote training for this role may begin as early as January 2024. In person training begins in mid-June 2024. Compensation for this role starts at $4950 plus room and board. For the health and safety of our community, EXPLO requires all employees and new hires to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
