For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $18.00 and $24.00 per hour. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future.

Short Description for Internal Candidates:

The intern will be responsible for driving research and development of an early-stage genomics project in the reproductive medicine space. The project will include collecting and summarizing preliminary information from current literature, regulatory documents and discussions with both internal and external sources. The intern will then perform complex laboratory procedures including PCR and next generation sequencing to generate data, that will be analyzed by both the intern, and other bioinformatics experts. The intern will be required to summarize this data and make conclusions about subsequent experiments and future directions for the project.

 

Responsibilities for Internal Candidates:

Essential Functions

  • Performs molecular-based procedures with a high degree of quality and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Analyzes results and provides feedback.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Scope

  • Performs complex molecular-based experiments to aid in product development. Analyzes data and records all data in accordance to lab procedures within the Houston, Texas R&D lab

 

Qualifications for Internal Candidates:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate skill in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently.
  • Excellent project management, organizational and follow-through skill set.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor.

Experience

  • Not required, but prior Internship experience is a plus.

Education

  • Current university student, majoring in Life Sciences, entering their Junior or Senior year.
  • Completed course work in molecular biology with labs, genetics
