Administrative/Marketing Associate for Classical Music Festival in Italy

ADMINISTRATIVE/MARKETING ASSOCIATE TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 

 

REPORTS TO: Director

 

Orfeo Music Festival (OMF), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational/artistic institution based in the US but conducting the festival in Europe (Vipiteno, Italy and this year a session in Russia). Assistant to the Director will have the opportunity to gain experience in many areas of arts administration. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with festival planning and preparation, communication with faculty, students and donors, the planning and execution of special events from small concerts to private parties, board correspondence, and general clerical and administrative duties. The position supports the Director and may be assigned duties by other key Festival staff. The Executive Assistant will work primarily online (part-time) during the year and if needed on location in July. Applicants should have a professional demeanor and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. 

 

Essential skills: 

  • Strong skills in social media and be prepared to regularly post on social media
  • Highly proactive personality 
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Maintain strong attention to detail 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Squarespace, Eventbrite, and data management systems 
  • Familiarity with classical music is not required, but highly desirable

Other duties may include:

  • Curate OMF social media presence
  • General clerical and administrative duties
  • Create pre-event/ post-event online feedback forms
  • Identify, schedule and manage outreach student chamber music performance opportunities 
  • Assist in selecting and scheduling venues and dates based on the Master Calendar 
  • Communicate with the designated contact for each event, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information 
  • Communicate with faculty and students during recruiting season

QUALIFICATIONS

MA track preferred, BA considered or completed degree

 

WAGES: $15 per hour - weekly hours vary, 

on location - $500 stipend, plus room and board (if assigned).
