Professional Development: Police Officer I is a non-entry-level position for candidates with recent law enforcement experience or California P.O.S.T. academy graduates.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Age: 21 years at time of hire.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent, or a degree from an accredited institution.
  • P.O.S.T. Certificate/Experience: Recent graduation from a California P.O.S.T. approved academy or equivalent experience in a city police, county sheriff, state or federal law enforcement agency performing correction duties, patrol functions, or traffic enforcement WITHIN THE LAST ONE YEAR.
  • License Requirements: A valid California Class C Driver License at the time of hire.
