Summer Science Program - Astrophysics Teaching Assistant and Residential Mentor

SSP Teaching Assistants and Residential Mentors (TAs) are tutors and academic instructors, assisting participants in using equipment and software, and with homework, under the direction of the Academic Director. Just as important is their simultaneous role as residential advisors and personal mentors, supervising students in the dorm and organizing recreational and social activities, under the direction of the Site Director. The TA job at SSP is much more complex, time-consuming, and hopefully, also more rewarding than a typical TA position for a college class.

SSP 2024 in Astrophysics will take place in person at New Mexico Tech, University of Colorado Boulder, Georgia College and State Univ., UNC Chapel Hill and other locations TBA.

Applicants should be college juniors (rising seniors), graduating seniors, or graduate students, studying a related STEM field. Some TAs are SSP alumni but we hire non-alumni each summer.
