Administrative Program Assistant

Join a fun and rewarding work environment in a unique role with education and healthcare. The Oregon Tech Dental Clinic is seeking a detail oriented, efficient team member with excellent interpersonal communication skills for a position as Clinic/Sterilization Manager in our dental office.

The Clinic Manager will be a combination front office/back-office role. It requires knowledge and/or training of infection control procedures and CDC guidelines. It will include front office patient scheduling and customer support duties. Candidates must efficiently utilize electronic health records; should be competent in Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, Outlook, have experience billing and checking for insurance eligibility. The Clinic Manager must provide excellent and responsive customer service and effectively communicate in all formats via face-to-face, phone, email, and follow through for case management of patients.

The Clinic Manager will be responsible for appointment scheduling according to instructions given; maintaining patient recall system; provide customer support to all stakeholders. The Clinic Manager will be able to work independently performing scheduled equipment maintenance, monitoring/testing, and compliance needs of the clinic as directed by faculty and the QA manager. It's a busy, fast paced environment supporting approximately 66 students, and 17-20 faculty and staff members.

Departmental Information: 

The Dental Hygiene Department provides a collaborative learning environment in state-of-the-art facilities, utilizing digital media for radiographs and clinical technologies and 100% electronic health records. The department has created a unique collaboration between an academic allied health program, and a full-service dental clinic auxiliary that serves the needs of the Klamath Basin and provides enrichment opportunities for dental hygiene students. Our support staff are integral to the success of our faculty and students.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents AND lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures.
  • Excellent written, oral communication skills and customer service experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to obtain CPR certification.
  • Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Physical ability to safely maintain and service dental equipment

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • Two years of experience working in dental or medical field, with emphasis on infection control, supply management, patient intake and scheduling
  • Experience in dental/medical insurance billing, and/or dental assisting.
  • Experience in dental electronic health records
