Youth Theatre and Musical Theatre Instructors

Join Stone Soup Theatre's team of creative and passionate teaching artists, and take part in one of Seattle's longest-running theatre programs for youth ages 5 - 17!

  • Hours can vary based on the number of classes you accept, and can range from 1 - 20 hours a week, depending on scheduling and availability.
  • Stone Soup Theatre programs typically fall between the hours of 12 pm - 6 pm on Mondays - Fridays but can differ depending on the program.
  • We have opportunities for programs beginning January, as well as year-round.
  • Pay is negotiable.

Stone Soup Theatre is seeking enthusiastic and imaginative teaching artists and directors to lead outreach programs in schools and community centers in the greater Seattle area. We offer camps, productions, and classes for students ages 5 to 17.

Applicants must have:

  • Previous teaching experience
  • Enthusiasm for working with youth
  • A love of theatre, and a passion for engaging youth in the arts
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • The ability to develop live theatre pieces from beginning to end
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Musical theatre experience encouraged
  • Reliable transportation encouraged
  • B.A. or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Bilingual teaching artists encouraged to apply

We are contracted to provide a variety of programs around the area including:

  • Story Drama (Dragons Love Tacos, Where the Wild Things Are, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus ...and more!)
  • Musical Theatre Classes (Mary Poppins, Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief Musical, Hamilton, Junie B. Jones The Musical, Newsies, Wicked, Beetlejuice, Anastasia, Frozen ...and more!)
  • Plays (James and the Giant Peach, The Hobbit, The Phantom Tollbooth, Wrinkle in Time, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, and original scripts based in the worlds of Pokemon, Minecraft, and Star Wars... and more!)
  • Devised Theatre
  • Shakespeare
  • Improv/Comedy
  • Playwriting
  • ...AND MORE!

Rate of pay starts at $25/hr.
