A Shot For Life Summer Internship

Through sports based initiatives, community in-person events, and online activities – A Shot For Life meaningfully engages and unites communities, inspires hope, provides experiences to children battling illness, teaches servant leadership, and funds health and research initiatives.

 

General Job Description: 

A Shot For Life Interns will get first-hand, real world experience in a growing non-profit. They will become familiar with the non-profit sector, they will be actively contributing to our mission, and they will leave our internship with the tools to contribute to their first full time employer.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

ASFL Interns will perform a myriad of mission-related tasks. Due to the ever-evolving nature of our organization, tasks are likely to morph and transform on a frequent basis. Guaranteed tasks include helping to grow the ASFL Gauntlet, helping to administer the #ASFLFamily program through the ASFL Challenge, ASFL HR Derby, ASFL Clash Against Cancer, or any other talent-based initiative. Additional tasks may include involvement in marketing, implementing social media campaigns, establishing new initiatives, or any other core function of ASFL progress that is necessary at the time. 

 

Minor Duties and Responsibilities:

Keeping the office clean, making sure amenities are available to all players during workouts, helping to schedule workouts, small errands.

 

Qualifications: 

 

Education - All ASFL Interns must be at least a rising sophomore in college and they must have a high school degree. No athletic experience is required.

 

Experience - Due to the fact that our interns range significantly in prior experience, we do not put a premium on this category. However, we do look for evidence that a candidate is trustworthy, punctual, hard working, and displays a good disposition on a day to day basis.

 

Key Competencies: 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient with Social Media
  • Willingness to make contact and establish new relationships with players and businesses
  • Up to date on Social Media trends of the ~15-25 year old demographic
