Summer Science Program - Biochemistry Teaching Assistant and Residential Mentor

Summer Science Program is a residential, immersive research experience for rising high school seniors, 24 or 36 participants per program with a team of 8 faculty, including 4 TA-RAs. Each program hires four Teaching Assistants and Residential Mentors (TAs) who are tutors and academic instructors, assisting participants in using equipment and software, and with homework, under the direction of the Academic Director. Just as important is their simultaneous role as residential advisors and personal mentors, supervising students in the dorm and organizing recreational and social activities, under the direction of the Site Director. The TA job at SSP is much more complex, time-consuming, and hopefully, also more rewarding than a typical TA position for a college class. 

Applicants should be college juniors (rising seniors), graduating seniors, or graduate students, studying a related STEM field. Some TAs are SSP alumni but we hire non-alumni each summer.
