Contracts Intern

Position Description:

IDG is hiring for a  Contracts Intern for Spring 2023. This paid, part-time position which will require a minimum of 24 hours per week. IDG's internship program is open to currently enrolled students in undergraduate and graduate programs. Individuals who have already graduated are also eligible.

We are looking for an Intern with a passion for International Development with an interest in federal award implementation and process management. The Contracts Intern will be an integral part of the Contracts team, focusing on award and corporate regulatory process improvement,  internal contracts management, and supporting contract administration for a quickly growing international development firm. 

The intern will aid IDG's Contract team under the Corporate Services department with organizational and administrative tasks related to the federal and corporate award process actions including assistance with current project items related to IDG’s federal award project implementation. The Intern will also help with the creation of written and visual content for IDG’s contract process improvement efforts as well as other administrative award management tasks. 

The Contracts Intern will report directly to IDG’s Senior Contracts Manager. 

Location: Arlington, VA / Remote

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate across project teams and source internal and public information to support the development of company-wide contract policies and procedures; 
  • Support project implementation, such as updates and uploads to internal project pages and project management systems; 
  • Provide administrative support to corporate and project contract related requests; 
  • Support internal corporate contracts projects, such as training, dissemination of updated contract administration policies, etc.; 
  • Support administrative tasks, such as attending relevant meetings, note-taking, and drafting contracts-related payment forms; 
  • Ability and/or willingness to work with various software programs.
  • Support documentation and tracking of contracts-related items to support development of knowledge management tools;
  • Support contracts-related ad hoc requests assigned by the Senior Contracts Manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor/graduate degree in a related field of study. Recent graduates are also eligible. Bachelor’s degree in one of the following or related fields: business and business administration, law, public administration, international business and law, or finance preferred.
  • Prior experience working in an office environment under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including experience with copyediting, proofreading and understanding and condensing complex information
  • Ability to work well individually and in a team in a very diverse and multicultural organization in remote and in-person settings.  
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Gmail.
  • Meticulous eye for detail and keen eye for design
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented. 
  • Knowledge of international development or current affairs is appreciated.
