Seasonal Assistant

Bayer is seeking highly motivated and self-driven individuals for field research assistants who will be stationed at the Mason, MI field site. These individuals will assist with implementing all aspects of corn, soybean and crop protection research operations and assist with the needs of other site research activities. Exposure to industry leading agricultural research equipment and processes (planters, harvesters, UAVs and data platforms).

Responsibilities include:
▪ Support research trial implementation 
▪ Scout field sites throughout Michigan 
▪ Assist with data collection, manual and UAV collected
▪ Powered equipment operation
▪ Maintenance of facilities and equipment
▪ Assist with day-to-day activities directed by team leaders 

Required skills 
▪ Effective verbal and written communication skills 
▪ Knowledge and ability to use handheld PC and/or iOS devices and Microsoft 
suite 
▪ Detail-oriented with excellent time management, organizational, and 
analytical skills 
▪ Able to work independently and in team-based settings
▪ Valid driver’s license in good standing 
▪ Pass onboarding physical
▪ Able to work fulltime during summer, overtime requirements may arise


Desired skills
▪ Currently pursuing a degree program in Agriculture 
▪ Broad knowledge of crop production and farming practices
▪ Experience with field data collection in small plot trials
▪ Equipment operation, maintenance, and repair
▪ Ability to obtain MDARD commercial pesticide applicators license
