Recreation Leader II

**CITY OF SAN DIEGO GOVERNMENT AGENCY: EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR RECREATION LEADER II**

Join our dynamic team at the City of San Diego and make a real difference in the community as a Recreation Leader II.  We are looking for creative, energetic individuals who are passionate about providing high-quality recreation and leisure activities.

YOUR ROLE:

  • Plan, organize, conduct, and evaluate a variety of recreation activities for diverse age groups, including children, teens, and older adults.
  • Lead teen and afterschool programs, including activities at teen centers and recreation centers.
  • Design and produce engaging flyers and marketing materials to promote your programs.
  • Develop monthly activity calendars, offering a wide range of exciting options.
  • Participate in department sports programs and committees, contributing to a vibrant sporting environment.
  • Conduct classes in arts and crafts, team sports, exercise, and more, organizing special events like tournaments and field trips.
  • Collaborate with school personnel, social service agencies, and community groups to enrich our programs.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor recreation aides and volunteers, ensuring high-quality service.
  • Manage records, reports, equipment, and facility maintenance, upholding safety and discipline at all times.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 300 hours of recreational leadership experience or relevant academic coursework.
  • A valid California Class C Driver's License may be required for certain roles.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

  • Two years of college-level education.
  • Coaching and officiating experience in various sports.
