Qualifications & Competencies Required:

  • Knowledge as a Systems Engineer in support of Naval and/or DoD Program of Records to include Systems Engineering planning, requirements, technical interpretation, performance specifications, technical specifications, test planning, test execution, test reporting, and other systems engineering documentation.
  • Knowledge of the acquisition life cycle and Systems Engineering Product Development policies, methods, tools, and practices as applied to Naval and/or DoD Systems.
  • Knowledge in Naval and/or DoD combat system and weapon system development and integration.
  • Ability to effectively integrate and communicate complex technical and programmatic concepts both orally and in writing, with technical experts and management, at all levels of the combat system development program, including, contractors, NSWCDD Line organizations, other warfare centers.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team without daily direct supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within a large, dynamic team environment.

Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Dahlgren, Virginia is one of the ten Divisions of the Naval Surface Warfare Center. It is the Navy’s principal research, development, and test & evaluation laboratory for surface ship combat systems. It performs warfare analysis, research, design, development, systems integration, strategic missile systems support, special and amphibious warfare and fleet engineering services.
