The Position

The full-time position as a Global Tax Graduate provides you with the opportunity to experience three exciting jobs in just two years. You will join a host department as an equal member of the team and rotate in areas of the business where the graduate programme is well known and respected. It is a place where you are empowered by managers who trust you with key responsibilities and exciting tasks and who are expecting you to deliver high quality, whilst continuously keeping your development in focus. You will work with various tax projects across Global Tax in Denmark, USA and Switzerland - ensuring a strong tax toolbox, including knowledge of digital tools, and a holistic understanding of Novo Nordisk and the pharmaceutical industry.

 

Our global Graduate Programme is designed to bring together change makers with a diversity of perspectives and equip them with the tools needed to accelerate their personal and professional development. The two-year programme allows you to explore the world while developing your career. You will be taken on three rotations around the globe where you will work in a fast-paced environment and grow in ways you never could have imagined.

 

A Global Tax graduate’s journey could look like this:

  • Corporate Tax, HQ: Involvement in strategic projects as well as compliance activities within corporate taxation, indirect taxes and transfer pricing
  • Novo Nordisk Inc., US: Supporting tax planning and strategy initiatives for the US consolidated group, as well as assisting with internal and external reporting requirements
  • Novo Nordisk Health Care AG, Switzerland: Supporting the affiliates within Novo Nordisk International Operations in direct and indirect tax matters, such as local manufacturing projects, tax audits and tax risk mitigation, as well as driving and/or implementing tax projects initiated in International Operations or by HQ

 

Your Programme Manager will guide and mentor you during the full two years of the programme. In each rotation, you will also have a host manager who will support you in your daily work and throughout the eight months in their department. In addition, we also have a strong graduate network in Novo Nordisk, consisting of both current and former graduates who are always ready to offer advice.

 

Graduate Programme Start Date: 1 September 2024.

 

Qualifications

To be able to apply to the Global Tax track, you must have:

  • Recent master's degree (from 2023 or 2024) in a relevant subject, for example Tax, Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or Management Accounting with strong academic achievements
  • No more than 1 year of full-time work experience after completing your Master’s degree (when hired)
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Relevant work experience or extracurricular activities is not a requirement but a plus.
  • International experience, for example from studying a full semester abroad, working or volunteering is not a requirement but a plus
  • Previous pharmaceutical work experience is not a requirement to apply for the programme

 

Additionally, you have an international mind-set with an ability to adapt quickly to change and to relocate internationally as part of the programme.

 

About the department

The Global Tax track offers three exciting eight-month rotations across our company and value chain, providing you with hands-on experience with the job, as an in-house tax advisor, communicating recommendations and creating measurable business impact. You will work with senior managers and build an international network of colleagues, establishing yourself as one of tomorrow’s key tax professionals at Novo Nordisk.
