Job Summary

We're now accepting applications for our 2024 summer internships in NYC! We’re looking for some bright, motivated writers and photographers to join the team as interns. Untapped New York interns get to do it all: writing published articles from day one, planning photoshoots, and exploring the city. As an Untapped New York intern, you can learn how a web magazine and tour company works, pitch your ideas, have your work published within your first week, and, of course, re-discover the city you love.

Editorial Internship:  The editorial interns will work directly with Untapped New York’s Managing Editor to determine the publication schedule, pitch new pieces, and write articles. Our editorial interns work on a full range of pieces from features and news articles, to list stories. As an editorial intern, you will also gain experience with writing for search engine optimization and using social media to promote your own work and the work of the site. You don’t need to be a journalism major, as long as you’re a strong writer and can come ready with ideas for content.

Internship Perks: All interns will receive a free 1-year annual membership to Untapped New York's Insider program, granting you access to member-exclusive virtual and in-person experiences. Interns are also welcome to join any of our Untapped New York Walking Tours for free with a guest. All travel costs related to work done for the internship will be paid for.
