Public Relations Intern (Hybrid - 3 Days in Office)

At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you’ll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.

Position Overview:

 

At Freddie Mac, our Public Relations group is looking for interns to support our corporate paid media and media relations teams. We seek individuals who are highly collaborative and inquisitive team players as well as organized and motivated to solve challenges. Responsibilities will include gaining hands-on experience in focus areas of paid media management and data analysis as well as external media relations and strategy. In everything we do, we work to align content purpose to business objectives for marketing, public relations, advocacy, and engagement.  

 

 

Your Impact:

 

  • Collaborating across the team to assist with weekly media monitoring, monthly and quarterly reporting activities. 
  • Media asset trafficking. 
  • Agency engagement and assisting with special projects, reviews and media channel, technology partner deep dives (exploration of channel/partner fit for Freddie Mac divisions). 
  • Assisting with audience analysis.  
  • Competitive media analysis and reviews.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Graduating in December 2024, May 2025 or December 2025.
  • Available to work from May 2024 to August 2024.
  • Currently working towards an undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, journalism, advertising or related fields; preferably a program with a strong writing or media emphasis.  
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills. 
  • Experience in effective, inspiring, inventive visual storytelling.
  • Appreciation for performance metrics and experience with aggregating data and identifying trends.
  • Familiarity with emerging corporate social and other media trends and best practices.
  • Familiarity with advertising channels and tactics.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, take direction and work collaboratively.

  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Be a teammate and able to work collaboratively.

 

Interns are paid at a set, non-negotiable hourly rate. The hourly rate for this role is $32/hour.
