Digital Lifestyle Magazine Internship/Mentorship
Seasoned editorial fashion/creative director seeking entrepreneurial and motivated students to contribute to Mood of Living|moodofliving.com, a digital media company for socially and environmentally conscious lifestyles.
Many consumers have a sustainability mindset but struggle to make it a lifestyle. Our convenient and transparent platform inspires people, businesses, and brands to make mindful choices that positively impact our planet. We do this by finding and sharing the authentic stories of inspirational people and places who do good things in our world. We also curate and showcase beautiful and timeless products from various lifestyle industries for conscious consumers who appreciate quality over quantity – enabling impact brands to connect with an audience who cares.
The internship will provide the opportunity to gain an overall understanding of an editorial publication, develop entrepreneurial thinking, and build portfolios.
We are looking for interns with the following interests:
EDITORIAL
Sustainability, Fashion, Beauty, Home Décor, Architecture, Graphic design, Journalism, Food, Art, Photography, Philanthropy.
Projects include:
Content Creation: researching, contributing ideas, conducting Q+A interviews, and writing feature articles; copy editing, fact-checking, proofreading articles; updating databases of industry contacts; reaching out to brands to incorporate in the SHOP section of the site, updating content on WordPress; selecting music for our monthly playlists.
BUSINESS
Projects include:
Developing business and marketing strategies; social media marketing including Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest; contributing research for business strategy, updating pitch deck; analyzing Google Analytics and the competition.
TECHNOLOGY
Projects include:
Laying out stories in WordPress; cropping, re-sizing, and uploading images; contributing layout design to the final business plan and pitch deck; SEO on the backend of WordPress.
SKILLS
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress is a plus; experience in photography and web/interactive design and software is not required but is an asset. Proficiency in MS Word is required.
