Customer Data Specialist

Job Title:                 Customer Data Specialist 

Reports to:               Director, Information Technology

Job Summary:        The Customer Data Specialist supports the development and administration of CRM solutions, including fulfilling data entry, importing and exporting activities, and providing general support for the CRM solutions. The position is responsible for maintaining strong data integrity and actively supporting the use of the CRM database.  The Customer Data Specialist works closely with the Development team to ensure the successful data capture and validation of data from all marketing campaigns. The Customer Data Specialist also provides on-going end-user training for the CRM to assure Heritage maintains the highest quality data.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure all database merges, purges, updates, and enhancements are scheduled and synchronized in alignment with business objectives and system constraints.
  • Maintain data integrity for constituent and campaign data in the CRM solutions through the definition and execution of a data hygiene program, including verifying the accuracy and quality of all data activities and identifying and resolving inconsistencies or inaccurate information within the database to improve functionality.
  • Work closely with colleagues of various departments to deliver on data requests, handle support tickets, configure permissions, conduct global field changes, and validate that database improvements meet specifications.
  • Facilitate the transfer of data between systems and third parties, including developing and maintaining detailed data dictionaries for recurring data transfers and conducting demographic and other data screenings to enrich the value of Heritage data.
  • Train users to become proficient in the use of CRM solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned to advance the objectives and goals of the Information Technology team.

Qualifications:

Education:               BA/BS preferred

Experience:             3 or more years of experience, specific experience working with data                                           and relational databases, data hygiene, reporting metrics, and CRM                                               systems required

Communication:    Excellent writing, verbal, and presentation skills

Technology:             Expert proficiency in Excel, Blackbaud and Salesforce preferred;                                                     Marketo, Pardot, or Hubspot experience preferred; Microsoft Azure,                                               PowerShell, Power BI, and Power Automate experience also preferred

Other Requirements:                  

  • Understand and support the Heritage mission and vision for America, and the department's goals and objectives.
  • Ability to manipulate data from CRM (export definitions, exports, smart fields, imports, import selections, MS Access).
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and anticipate consequences of actions.
  • Understanding of list segmentation, relational data, and dynamic variables.
  • Excellent customer service and technical skills
