DevOps Engineer I
Job Summary:
Assist in-house development team with ad hoc automation tasks and workflows for our clients and internal teams.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Explore, Assess and Optimize Internal Workflows & Applications
- Assist Internal Teams with Ad Hoc Automation Tasks
- Devise & Implement Mechanisms to Programmatically Maintain & Deploy Systems
- Review, Understand & Maintain Existing Scripts, Monitors, etc.
- Troubleshoot Issues Stemming from Automated Monitoring Systems
- Play Key Role in Small & Large Projects Central to Workflow Optimization & Efficiency
- Create & Maintain Proprietary Applications in AWS
- Maintain Technical Knowledge by Attending Workshops & Reviewing Industry Publications
- Required Skills/Abilities:
- Admirable Patience with Clients & Colleagues
- Experience Writing & Debugging Python Scripts
- Desire to Learn Other Structured Programming Languages and Techniques
- Excellent Written & Oral Communication Skills
- Basic Understanding of Relational Databases
- Ability to Conceptualize & Communicate Complex Tasks
- Working Well with a Team, while also Being Self-Motivated and Independent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AWS Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with Dev/Test Workflows
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Familiarity with Standard Networking Components (e.g. VPN, DNS)
- Experience with MS SQL and MySQL
- Experience with LAMP Applications
- Experience Creating & Integrating with REST APIs
- Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript as well as front-end JS frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
