WaterFire Providence, an arts nonprofit, seeks an enthusiastic intern to join our team and help engage with our supporters. The mission of WaterFire is to revitalize Providence and creatively transform our community. Interns will be involved in the lighting events in Downtown Providence and programming, exhibitions, and events at the WaterFire Arts Center (WFAC) in the Valley neighborhood..

 

Job Overview:

The intern will work to prepare for and carry out WaterFire photography for events; capturing special performances, stage performances, receptions, volunteers, the audience, and general WaterFire perspectives. The internship will involve the intern in a variety of activities including clerical and administrative tasks necessary to prepare for the events, assistance with photography database within the office, work with other interns and staff to provide edited photos with proper resolution and size for web or print materials, as well as a wide range of responsibilities on the evening of the event.  

 

Responsibilities: 

WaterFire is a seasonal event, and responsibilities will vary accordingly per the discretion of WaterFire Providence administration. 

·   Organization and database work with current photo library

·   Photo documentation of specified events at WaterFire events from prep work to breakdown

·   Volunteer management

·   Categorization of incoming photography

·   Attend WaterFire lightings for the given season 

 

Qualifications: 

·   Must be a confident manager and capable delegator

·   Must have sound communication skills and be a great listener

·   Must be responsible and have a strong sense of professionalism

·   Must have a genuine interest in art, culture and community, and WaterFire

·   Must have workable knowledge with photo editing and database programs, specifically Photoshop. ·  

·   Access to a car and a valid driver’s license are preferable

·   Have a sense of humor and enjoy working with a committed team
