Conservation Center, Summer Graduate Paid-Internship in Objects Conservation
INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
The graduate internship in object conservation would focus on advanced-level treatments with associated technical analysis.
Based on the level of experience and coursework completed, the intern will choose two projects related to the Fall 2024 exhibition schedule and/or pieces going into the Geffen Galleries. Treatments will be completed under the supervision of the conservators in the lab and in consultation with the appropriate curatorial departments.
The intern will also be an active participant in ongoing, shared lab tasks, including outdoor sculpture maintenance, exhibition preparations, and condition reporting for outgoing loans.
This is a paid part-time internship (29 hours per week or less) at $16.78/hour
Anticipated Internship period: 6/3/2024 - 8/31/2024
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an accredited graduate conservation program
*LACMA’s definition of ‘recently graduated’: within 1 year after graduation
