Data Scientist (Intern)

Job Summary:


 ZelTech is looking for interns to support technology product development efforts. These efforts include web application and smartphone app development in addition to data ingestion/cleansing and algorithm development for data processing. This is an opportunity to gain experience as a key contributor for small-scale, early-phase development initiatives. The site will allow users to share information about single-board computers and accessories and validate and correct data scraped from publicly available web sites. The hardware systems analysis web application will provide tools for users to design hardware systems and identify potential compatibility/vulnerability issues.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Work with a small team to develop ETL processes for web applications.
  • Work with a small team to develop prototypes for a hardware knowledge-sharing website and a hardware systems analysis web application.
  • Participate in discussions about system architecture and data modeling.
  • Develop methods to parse and cleanse text documents.
  • Create algorithms to infer data relationships from raw data.
  • Gain proficiency in new software packages and development tools as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Experience with Python, Data Cleansing, and Text Parsing.
  • Familiarity with data classification and association.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Requirements:

  • In pursuit of a BS or MS degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • Experience with scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
  • Experience with Linux, Git, and bash (or similar).
