Position Summary

Corporate Finance is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our team!  The Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of a medical device company while gaining hands-on work experience in a corporate setting during this paid internship.  The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Corporate Finance team. 

The ideal candidate will be available to work 40 hours a week during Summer 2024, with the potential to extend the internship.  The ideal candidate will be entering their junior or senior year in school.  This position will be based out of our Wayne office location and will require a minimum of 3 days/week onsite.
 

Principal Responsibilities

•    Opportunity to learn different responsibilities within the Corporate Finance Teams (Corporate Accounting, Consolidations, External Reporting, Financial Systems).
•    Support the monthly and quarterly close process.
•    Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
•    Participate in the forecasting and budgeting processes.
•    Assist with the preparation of external financial statements and SEC reporting as necessary.
•    Assist with ad-hoc reporting requirements and special projects as they arise. 
•    Support accounting functions for Corporate general ledger.
•    Assist with the pension statement compilation process.
•    Analyze financial data to identify trends and explain fluctuations.
•    Assist in preparation of data for external and internal auditors.
•    Gain experience in Financial Systems (HFM, FDMEE, PBCS, and SAP).
•    Assist in the preparation of roll forwards.
•    Adhere to and ensure compliance with the Teleflex Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, and procedures.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business or related field. 
•    Rising junior or senior. Must be in good academic standing.
•    Basic accounting/finance/business courses required; intermediate accounting/finance/business courses preferred.
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Basic understanding of balance sheets and income statements.
•    Basic knowledge of technical accounting (GAAP and SEC rules) required.
•    Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
•    Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
•    Independent thinker who can take initiative to investigate and problem-solve without significant direction.
•    Big picture orientation with strong attention to detail will be critical for success in this role.
•    Ability and motivation to work both independently and as part of a team.
•    Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities.
•    Be a team player and understand the importance of achieving team objectives.
•    Curiosity and desire to learn new things.
