General Purpose
Big Sandy Community and Technical College in Eastern Kentucky is seeking qualified applicants for a full time, 10-month position of Human Services Instructor/Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator on our Prestonsburg Campus. Human Services is a premier program at the college.
The qualified candidate for this 10-month, full-time position will serve as program coordinator, teach a minimum of 15 credit hours of Human Services courses, and advise AAS Human Services majors and those seeking transfer.
Essential Functions
Provide instruction, advising and leadership of a dynamic A.A.S. program in Human Services.
Network with university faculty and advisors to ensure that BSCTC Human Services majors are prepared for transfer.
Build relationships with appropriate agencies and working professionals to form an engaged advisory to the program.
Facilitate work-based learning opportunities for students and support ongoing educational opportunities for the sector.
Course instruction with a minimum of 15 credit hours of teaching assigned.
Internal service, external service, professional development, and leadership.
Advising students.
Serve as Program Coordinator for the Human Services program.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Human Services, Social Work or Counseling with three years related experience in the field. Credentials must be granted from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree with 5 years field experience, leadership experience, college level teaching experience including online delivery.
