Entry-Level Civil/Water Resources Engineer
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Entry-Level Civil/Water Resources Engineer for immediate employment for the Germantown, Maryland office. This position will support ongoing water resources and site civil engineering projects across the DC-Metro/Mid-Atlantic region.
This position is expected to begin in June 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final work drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree emphasis in water resources.
- Experience with Hydrologic/Hydraulic models.
- Experience with stormwater management and flood mitigation.
- Experience with standard computer software for the position (e.g. AutoCAD and ArcGIS).
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Programs and capable of using spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software.
- Engineer-in-Training.
- Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong sense of commitment and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline-driven environment.
Additional information
- Relocation is not available for this position.
- This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Germantown, MD. The selected candidate must be available to work in Germantown, MD on a scheduled basis.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
- Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (Maryland locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $75,000.
