Corporate Debt Private Placements, Secondary Trading - StoneCastle Securities, LLC
Summary: The StoneCastle Securities team is seeking a quantitative, detail oriented individual interested in fixed income sales and trading, preferably a rising college senior or a rising college junior. The opportunity is for a 2-3 month summer internship working on our trading desk in New York City. We are considering applicants for both Summer 2024 (for rising juniors and seniors) and Summer 2025 (for rising juniors only). Please specify in your cover letter which summer you are applying for.
Background: The StoneCastle Securities team, since its inception in 2010, is the leading trader of secondary private debt with institutional investors. The team specializes in less-liquid corporate debt, project finance, credit-tenant leases, and asset-backed bonds. The business is run by leaders in fixed income trading and research from Lehman Brothers, Barclays, and Credit Suisse.
Responsibility and Duties
- Provide operational support to trading team,
- Help manage inbound investor calls on desk,
- Develop bond and financial models,
- Assist with corporate research analysis and special projects,
- Analysis of various corporate finance structures,
- Opportunity to participate in hands on trading and asset analysis in a fast-moving environment.
Required Qualifications
- Particular interest in fixed income trading and finance,
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills,
- Strong attention to detail,
- Professional level written and verbal communication skills,
- High level of computer proficiency, including Excel and Word,
- Motivation to learn and achieve in a demanding work environment.
