Student Environmental Remediation Engineer (Summer Internship)

The Office of Land Revitalization & Sustainable Materials Management (OLRSMM) is seeking qualified candidates to assist our scientists and engineers on various technical assignments/projects this summer. The OLRSMM is divided into four sections: the Site Remediation/Brownfields Program, the Waste Facilities Management Program, the Underground Storage Tank Management Program, and the Superfund (NPL)/Department of Defense (DOD) Program. As an intern, you will have to opportunity to work with each of these programs and to gain experience with the following: 

  • State environmental regulatory procedures
  • Environmental technical report reviews
  • Field oversight of environmental remediation projects
  • Environmental land use restriction (ELUR) inspections and assessments
  • Underground storage tank compliance and closure inspections
  • Landfill inspections
  • E-waste management
  • Database management

This position will entail approximately 50% field work (completed in teams) and 50% office work (independent projects).

Employment start and end dates are flexible to accommodate students' schedules.
