Vice President Investment Banking Mergers & Acquisitions
Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips (ODP) is hiring a Vice President to join our TMT-focused investment banking team in New York. ODP is seeking a detail-oriented, committed and proactive individual with excellent financial analysis and interpersonal skills who is focused on owning M&A engagements from start to finish in the technology and media sectors. The position offers candidates the opportunity to work directly with senior members of ODP’s team and our clients’ executive management teams.
Candidates must possess excellent writing and analytical skills, as throughout the M&A process from pitch to closing, the candidate will conduct extensive client financial due diligence and market research while developing comprehensive informational memoranda and management presentations for prospective strategic and financial buyers/investors. Marketing and diligence materials produced will include financial analyses including operating and valuation models such as discounted cash flow, LBOs, as well as public comps/precedent transactions.
Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips is a close-knit team, and cultural fit is a very important consideration. The candidate will become a central member of our deal execution team, and will operate with a great deal of autonomy. Candidates must have prior experience working in a finance oriented role doing corporate finance or M&A-related analysis.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience is required
- Excellent financial analysis skills required
- Strong research, writing & presentation and project-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills – client and team interaction will be a significant component of the position
- Organized, thorough and detail oriented across multiple simultaneous work streams
- Proven leadership and ability to work independently and proactively to meet deadlines
- High level of energy, enthusiasm and integrity
- Exceptional academic and professional track record
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- TMT industry experience a plus but not required
- An ability to apply lessons and feedback across a variety of settings
- Interest in digital media, advertising & marketing, mobile, social media, EdTech, HealthTech, or information services is a plus
