Communications Intern

Duties and Responsibilities

The Princeton University Office of the Dean of the Faculty is seeking a highly motivated individual for a communications internship. The intern will be responsible for assisting with web content creation and management and writing about Princeton University faculty members and research for a general audience. The intern will write news briefs, web content and other communications in the style used by major newspapers and magazines. Responsibilities include writing, editing, updating web content, and gathering art and photography for publication. 

Professional Development Opportunities

The intern will develop content management, writing and editing skills that can be applied in a variety of digital communications careers. Work produced by the intern will appear on the Office of the Dean of the Faculty’s website and potentially in other campus digital publications and media, as appropriate. 

Requirements

The intern must have excellent writing and editing skills and possess the ability to work with a content management system (Drupal preferred). The intern’s educational background should include previous training or current enrollment in communications or writing classes at the undergraduate or graduate level. The successful candidate must be capable of meeting deadlines and handling multiple projects simultaneously. Skills in photo editing and graphic design are also valuable.
