NASA-USRA Simulation and Data Science Support Intern

The Objective of this internship is to support the research and development efforts towards smart unmanned aerial systems operations in integrated airspace. Specific tasks involve actionable data & analytics provisioning, distributed decision making in dynamic airspace, and interactive visualization of advanced aerial mobility operations. Desired skills include Python, Unity, cloud deployment, docker container, and front-end app development.

Applicants must be United States Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.

Desired skills:

1. Unity simulation engine 
2. Python, C#
3. Matlab
4. Machine learning - Tensorflow, KERAS
5. GPU computing - CUDA
6. Edge computing - NVidia Jetson and Xavier
7. Strong analytical and communication skills

 

Tasks to be accomplished:

1. Data and AI service integration
2. Situational awareness development for air operations utilizing AI and non-AI methods
3. Distributed decision making implementation on cloud and edge computing nodes
4. Development of a general purpose 3D visualization tool for evaluating collective air mobility concepts
5. Document the development steps, including software designs & codes, and outcomes
