Entry-Level Structural Engineer - Bridge Design
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer - Bridge Design to be based in Piscataway, New Jersey.
This position is expected to begin in May 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and designs for staff's specific areas of expertise.
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing the discipline component of the PS&E package.
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepares technical specification sections.
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
- As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree concentration in Structural and/or Bridge Engineering.
- EIT/FE Certification or ability to obtain prior to the start date.
- Relevant experience as an Intern, Co-op, or other professional development.
- Experience or education in reinforced concrete and/or structural steel design.
- Ability to work with a diverse team located in Piscataway, NJ.
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible, along with ability to adapt to project deadlines.
- Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.

- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Piscataway, NJ. The selected candidate must be available to work in Piscataway, NJ on a scheduled basis.

- The offered rate of compensation (New Jersey locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $82,000/yr.
