Entry-Level Structural Engineer - Bridge Design

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer - Bridge Design to be based in Piscataway, New Jersey.

This position is expected to begin in May 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and designs for staff's specific areas of expertise.
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing the discipline component of the PS&E package.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree concentration in Structural and/or Bridge Engineering.
  • EIT/FE Certification or ability to obtain prior to the start date.
  • Relevant experience as an Intern, Co-op, or other professional development.
  • Experience or education in reinforced concrete and/or structural steel design.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team located in Piscataway, NJ.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible, along with ability to adapt to project deadlines.
  • Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.

 

Additional information

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Piscataway, NJ.  The selected candidate must be available to work in Piscataway, NJ on a scheduled basis.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • The offered rate of compensation (New Jersey locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $82,000/yr.
