Intern, Automation Engineer

Summary 

This is a full-time intern role based in RTP, NC at the DP Site, 900 Davis Drive from June - August 2024. Resume review begins February 2024.

The Automation Intern will provide engineering assistance with multiple Control System projects, including modifications to automation control systems based on Rockwell Allen Bradley hardware, Rockwell Factory Talk View, and Aveva WonderWare.  

The Intern will also assist Automation Engineers with other small project-based functions. 

 

Position Description 

Key Responsibilities:  

Reviewing and updating SCADA/HMI graphics 

Executing test protocols  

Perform usability testing. 

Perform preventative maintenance tasks on the Automation Infrastructure 

Document reviews 

Project drawing reviews 

 

Qualifications 

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. 

At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date 

Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university 

 

Additional qualifications: 

Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university 

Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies 

Basic programming knowledge in languages such as SQL, Python, or R 

Arduino/Raspberry PI programming experience is a plus 

Basic Microsoft Office skills 

Solid problem-solving skills 

 

Education 

Undergraduate engineering student - completed at least one year of program 

Desired majors include: 

Electrical Engineering 

Computer Hardware Engineering 

Computer Software Engineering 

Computer Science 

Chemical Engineering 

Applied Mathematics/Statistics
