We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill our "Transportation Finance Specialist" vacancy. The incumbent will report to the "Finance Manager/Team Lead." We are looking for a candidate with good technical, communication, and partnering skills who wants to work within a challenging, complex, and innovative team environment.

As a Transportation Finance Specialist, you will:

  • Serve as a technical advisor for FHWA division personnel, Headquarters personnel, and State DOT employees on the FHWA Financial Management Program.
  • Be responsible for establishing, reviewing, and maintaining internal controls to achieve the objectives of effective and efficient operations, reliable financial reporting, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop financial management reports and conduct analysis to help resolve financial operations issues.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting financial management system reviews and evaluations, performing complex duties in various areas of financial management, analyzing financial reimbursements, reviewing, and making recommendations for project agreements and helping the New York Division's finance team carry out its financial oversight responsibilities.
