Research and Development Intern

Legend Biotech is starting their Summer Internship program for 2024! The Research and Development team is seeking an Intern for a 10-week Internship Program that will run from June 10th, 2024, to August 16th, 2024. We are looking for students or recent grads who are passionate about helping others and building something that matters.

Role Overview

This is a laboratory-focused role. The intern will collaborate with staff scientists to collect and analyze data as a part of our allogenic cell therapy program.  The intern will handle primary human samples, and will conduct collaborative and independent laboratory experiments.  The intern will perform immunoassays, culture cells, maintain and organize samples, and utilize an Electronic Laboratory Notebook for record keeping.

Key Responsibilities  

• Culture primary human cells and tumor cell lines, and other cell lines as needed.
• Assist in large-scale primary cell experiments.
• Perform immunoassays and immunocytological studies.
• Create and maintain accurate electronic notebook entries.
• Assist in the implementation of LIMS for laboratory sample management and data integrity.

Requirements

• Rising sophomore, junior or senior in biology, immunology, biochemistry, bioengineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, safe handling of sterile materials, immunology and CAR-T technology is required.
• Experience culturing cells is preferred.
• Experience with LIMS or other electronic records system is preferred.
