BASIC FUNCTION:  

Basic Function: The Economic Development Intern plays an important role in ESD's Mohawk Valley Regional Office in contributing to the mission of Empire State Development. The intern will work closely with the Regional Director, Deputy Director and Economic Development Specialist team on research and analysis that informs the regional economic development strategy.

 

WORK PERFORMED:

  • Conduct research to inform economic development strategy of the ESD Mohawk Valley 

Office and the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council

  • Collect, clean and analyze data using MS Excel
  •  Draft reports based on research and analysis
  •  Craft and support communications with key stakeholders
  •  Utilize mapping software (ie: ArcGIS)
  • Craft PowerPoint slide decks for presentations and reports
  • Support review of projects for consideration for incentives

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred Standing Junior

Minimum Standing: Sophomore

Degree Concentrations: Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Science
