Lifeguards and Swim Instructors
The Granite YMCA is seeking Lifeguards and Swim Instructors to join our supportive team creating positive impacts in our community. We offer flexible shifts to meet the needs of your busy schedule! This is an opportunity for leaders looking to build key skills, boost a resume and make a difference in the lives of others. Free training and certification courses are available for those not yet certified.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Lifeguards must be able to supervise swimmers, minimize dangers, educate members about water safety, enforce rules and regulations, prepare records and reports, and provide assistance whenever needed. Lifeguards provide the safest possible environment for YMCA members and participants in the pool area.
Swim Instructors should be knowledgeable in stroke mechanics and teaching safety skills to a variety of age and ability groups.
Qualifications:
- Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, O2
- Current YMCA Lifeguarding or Red Cross Lifeguarding
- Ability to maintain or obtain certifications - level of physical and mental readiness.
- Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA or Red Cross standards.
- In lieu of Swim Instructor certification, Instructors may have prior competitive swimming experience.
Schedule & Pay:
Flexible part-time hours available at indoor pools
Lifeguard shifts available weekdays/weekends, mornings, daytimes and evenings
Swim Instructor shifts available weekday afternoons and weekend mornings
Work locations available at the following YMCAs:
- YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown
- YMCA of Downtown Manchester
- YMCA of Concord
- YMCA of the Seacoast
