Membership Coordinator

The YMCA of the Seacoast has an opening for a detail-oriented and passionate Membership Coordinator as part of our department leadership team. 
 

The Membership Coordinator maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals, promotes the potential of all, and provides a quality experience to the community. As a leader in member engagement, the Membership Coordinator will assist with the oversight of the day-to-day operations and personnel of the Welcome Center. They will create a welcoming environment for members, volunteers and guests at each YMCA branch. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • An Associate’s Degree or higher in communications, business management or recreation management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least two years of experience working in the customer service or sales field
  • Possess strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner
  • Proficient use of tablets, computers and computer functions including Microsoft Windows and Office; high aptitude for learning new systems

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Assist with overseeing the operations of the Welcome Center including SGAS processing and supportive functions relevant to serving new and existing members of the YMCA
  • Assist in onboarding, ongoing training and development of department employees
  • Participate in and help lead regular staff meetings with direct reports to assure effective communication with Y staff, to promote support for problem solving, program development, family engagement, etc.
  • Support membership sales efforts
  • Lead results-oriented tours for prospective members and coach Welcome Center Associates on related processes and expected outcomes
  • Handles conflict, concerns, member frustrations, and unusual facility situations

 

This is a full-time, hourly position with an extensive benefit package that includes:
