Youth Program Coordinator (STAY)

The Program Coordinator for the STAY program will be responsible for the development and implementation of educational and leadership opportunities for youth in foster care and those transitioning out of care. The position will work in collaboration with county and tribal placement agencies to refer youth to programming and provide support with transition plans as youth exit care. The position will lead Independent Living Skills group training for referred youth ages 14-17 who are receiving services from the foster care system. Additionally, the position will lead the development in partnership with youth of the Youth Leadership Council (YLC) for youth ages 14-22 who are either in care or have aged out. The YLC will provide opportunities for youth voice in advocacy work-improving the foster care system and strengthening services for youth in and aging out of care.

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience working with similar clientele and/or in a related field.
  • A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and a Motor Vehicle Check.
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to demonstrate professional boundaries.
  • Training in the areas of crisis intervention, family dynamics, incest and chemical dependency.
  • CPR/First Aid certification and medical administration training is desired; may be obtained after hire.
