Solar Construction & Project Management Internship

Intern Job Description 

Green Street Power Partners (GSPP) is seeking collaborative, highly driven, and results-oriented professionals for internships within our Construction & Project Management department in a fast-paced work environment. This position requires attention to detail, superior communication skills, and the ability to work within a cross-functional team of professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an entrepreneurial passion for renewable energy construction and project management, as well as a desire to work collaboratively with others. The intern will report to a Senior Project Manager and will work closely with our QA/QC Manager within our Construction & Project Management department. The candidate will also be able to work independently and will be an important contributor to our dynamic team.  

 

Knowledge/Qualifications 

  • Applicant should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate program. Rising Seniors are preferred.
  • Preferred Majors: Engineering and/or Construction Management
  • Experience with solar energy is preferred, construction project management processes, project life cycle and construction site operations is a plus
  • Keen attention to detail: ability to thoroughly review engineering and construction documents, produce accurate construction progress reports and work with our QA/QC team to flag potential issues.
  • Highly organized: ability to track contractor progress across multiple projects at once while keeping data rooms up to date with the required project documentation
  • Ability to adapt: pivot between multiple high priority tasks and meet new challenges as they arise
  • Ability to thoughtfully communicate complex issues and problem-solve within a team
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office tools and other relevant technology platforms
  • Knowledge and experience with Procore Project Management and Autocad software is a plus

 

Hours/Compensation 

  • Compensation TBD
  • Hours TBD, target is 2-3 days travel in the field, 1-2 days working remotely (depending on project demands).
  • The internship will be 8-12 weeks depending on school schedules.
  • Candidate must have reliable transportation; Gas mileage reimbursement will be provided.
  • Candidate should be located within the greater Albany, Syracuse, Rochester areas.
